BASS MUSEUM PERFORMANCE

PRESS:

Say "Sayonara Kusama" with the ArtCrowd
Chill out after work with cocktails, culture, and good company. At the Bass Museum of Art's ArtCrowd events you'll meet hip, happening young professionals who share your interest in the arts. On Thursday, May 1, from 6 to 9 pm, the ArtCrowd presents Sayonara Kusama, a closing party for the museum's exhibition of this renegade artist's work. Enjoy a la carte Asian-style tapas and a cash bar sponsored by Bacardi. Innovative live performances in the Japanese theme include a performance art piece by Leah Solo Taylor (supported by Karelle Levy) who will assume the character of Yayoi Kusama in conversation with her therapist and DJ Mark Brickman spinning a unique mix of Asian music samples and hard-hitting dance beats. Plus, take in the screening of Eat the Kimono at 7:30 pm. The museum closes at 9 pm but the party doesn't stop: walk down the block to join new friends for a screaming karaoke bash at Studio--"the biggest karaoke club in the world"--in the basement of the Shelborne Hotel, 1801 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, from 9 to 11 pm. Tickets to this event are just $10 and it's free for ArtCrowd members. ArtCrowd membership is only $25 in addition to any level of membership (Individual or higher) at the museum and includes invitations to special events, mixers with other young affiliate groups, an opportunity to join the ArtCrowd committee, and all the privileges of Bass Museum membership.
